History

Aluvan is a family owned and staffed business, based in South Brisbane. Headed by Terry Allen, founder and chief designer for Aluvan, we take pride in the services and products we can offer to our clients.

Terry Allen

Terry was born in Roma (QLD), he started out at the age of 15 building gates and farm equipment for a small fabrication company. As years progressed he worked in the shipyards, played in various bands, started a foundry and eventually moved into the recreational boat industry. Terry's main involvement in these companies including R&D, maintenance, factory setup, production streamlining, factory machinery development and tooling. In his time with Australias largest aluminium boat manufacturer, Terry designed and was responsible for many ground breaking revolutions in hull design including the "Hornet" which also lead to the "Milennium" hull which defined a new era in boat design, these designs are still used today and famous in the Australian marketplace. Terry's name appears on International Patents regarding these designs.

Terry continues his marine experience with Aluvan Marine, but still consults with companies in their design and manufacturing methods. Terry has since expanded further into machinery design and production, also developing his knowledge into industrial glazing.

Terry is the founder of Aluvan Marine responsible for the Design of our vessels, products and machinery.

Daniel Allen

Daniel was born in Southport (QLD), Daniel started out at a well know fiberglass boat manufacturer in Yatala working as a detailer. He remained in the marine industry as a detailer and contracted to many other companies. After a short move up north, Daniel returned to Brisbane to work at a bus manufacturing factory which specializes in supplying school and commercial busses all over Australia. Daniel has also completed various fabrication and welding qualifications during his employment.

Daniel is responsible for a major percentage of the fabrication and assembly of the vessels and machinery we build at Aluvan.

Ben Allen

Ben was born in Southport (QLD), after finishing high school, Ben was employed at a large aluminium boat manufacturer for a number of years, moving through various sections and job responsibilities to gain a great knowledge of the company. Moving into fiberglass Ben gained employment at a well know fibre glass boat company in Yatala, working in their rigging section, gaining great knowledge in marine electrics and outboards. Other industries Ben has worked in includes Transport, I. T. and security.

Ben is responsible for the marketing and advertising for Aluvan Marine.

Kurtis Allen

Kurtis was born in Southport (QLD), Kurtis was first employed at a large aluminium boat manufacturer as a boat builder building hundreds of units during his employment. Kurtis stayed in the marine industry working also at other marine manufacturing factories on the Gold Coast and north Brisbane. Kurtis has since gained qualifications and experience in earthmoving and screw piling  but has now moved back into fabrication.

Kurtis brings his expertise in boat building to the team.
